Internship Eligibility Application is open on Blackboard/Community “Spring 21 Communication & DMJ Students”

Digital Media, Journalism and Communication students: if you are eligible to apply for internships, get a head start now! If you wish to do an internship this summer the deadline to apply is Friday, March 12. The deadline for fall 2021 internship applications is Friday, April 9.

Here are all the minimum requirements to apply for internship eligibility:

  • 60 total credits
  • 30 credits at New Paltz
  • 18 credits in your major
  • 2.5 GPA

To apply visit the spring21_ Communications & DMJ students Blackboard Community and check the “INTERNSHIP ELIGIBILITY APPLICATION” folder on the left menu. You will need to fill out an application, submit a one-page (single-sided) resume and a PDF copy of your current progress report. 

Students must apply at least one semester before their internship to qualify for internship credits (retroactive credits will not be granted). Journalism students need a total of 4 internship credits. Production and management majors and journalism minors need a total of 3 internship credits.
