The Century House Historical Society and Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale are looking for students to fill different positions and internships for the historical properties. Holding one of these positions would make you an important figure in preserving the history of the Catskill and Hudson Valley economic history in indigenous cement mines.
The positions available are…
1. Curator of Museum Archives & Collection
This job is best suited for people who have interests in journalism and history, with great attention to detail. Those who apply will be able to take a tour of the museum to see the estate’s quality and learn its history. Before applying, you should contact the director Althea, who will explain the position in better detail.
2. Graphic Artist Internship
This would be a mostly remote position. The graphic artist would layout grounds in the format of a map with a tear-off section for contact information. This position may also include researching the best cost effective way to print designs. It would be ongoing for one year, most likely on a monthly or “per-project with deadline” basis.
3. Social Media Coordinator Internship
This position would be hybrid; most can be done remotely, but you would have to be available on site for event dates. You would mostly promote and design content to generate admission for the Century House, promote the Widow Jane brand and events, and update content across social media platforms.
4. Head Intern HR Advisor Internship
This position would be hybrid; you would review applications remotely but some interviews may be in person. Your role would be screening other interns, answering questions about the opportunities, and advise areas of participation best suited for them. You would need to have excellent communication skills and know how to complete data entry.
5. Horticulture Advisor Internship
This would be an ongoing, flexible on-site position, with some remote potential. This position is for you if you have a green thumb and are interested in natural landscaping. To learn more about the position, contact Althea directly.
If none of these internships sound suitable for you, The Century House and Widow Jane Mine are interested in hearing your input and ideas for other positions!
