Campus Panel on Activism and Social Change on February 16, Featuring Professor Karla Vermeulen

Please join us for Students in Action: A Conversation about Activism and Social Change on Thursday, February 16 at 5:00 p.m. in Science Hall 181.

Movements for social change have long been led by young people. Today’s young adults continue that tradition by participating in activism around old and new issues, including fighting racism, advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and accessibility, and working to support sustainability and combat climate change. Join us to hear student activists AnnaLynn DiMarco (Political Science and Black Studies), Nyah Estevez (Political Science), Leona Omozore (Sociology, Black Studies) and Jade Wong (Sociology) discuss what motivates them to fight for the causes they believe in, and speak with representatives of student organizations about how you can also get involved. Free refreshments!

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Anna Gjika (Sociology) and Dr. Karla Vermeulen (Psychology, IDMH).
