Emeritus faculty member Phyllis Freeman just co-authored a Lyme disease treatment paper published in the journal Antibiotics. It might be a game changer for those with long term tick borne disease since it tests a new protocol of much shorter antibiotic treatment. Check it out:
“Efficacy of Short-Term High Dose Pulsed Dapsone Combination Therapy in the Treatment of Chronic Lyme Disease/Post-Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome (PTLDS) and Associated Co-Infections: A Report of Three Cases and Literature Review” (published in Antibiotics as part of the Special Issue “Antimicrobial Combination Therapy to Treat Difficult-to-Treat Infections: From Bench to the Bedside”)
