Applications are open for the 2025 Fulbright US-UK Global Challenges Teaching Awards (GCTA)—a partnership between AAC&U and the US-UK Fulbright Commission.
The Global Challenges Teaching Awards support pairs of teaching faculty—one at a US higher education institution (HEI), and one at a UK HEI—in co-delivering virtual exchange programs for undergraduates. These awards aim to expand access to global exchange opportunities by addressing the economic and environmental challenges often associated with traditional in-person exchanges. By embracing virtual exchange, the US-UK Fulbright Commission and AAC&U aim to help faculty overcome these challenges.
The upcoming GCTA will foster transatlantic virtual exchange/collaborative online international learning (VE/COIL) partnerships designed to address:
- Climate Action
- Disinformation and Misinformation
- Health Inequality
- Peace and Justice
Faculty teaching undergraduate students at accredited US or UK higher education institutions are encouraged to apply.
Highlights of Participating:
- Develop innovative VE/COIL projects with a UK partner, starting with the creation of a shared module or course and extending to broader institutional collaboration.
- Participate in the AAC&U Institute on VE/COIL, a yearlong professional development program designed to enhance teaching practices, foster internationalization, and find strategies to empower students to address global challenges.
- Access funding to support institutional collaboration and partner visits.
Application Deadline: March 10, 2025.
