Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice Curriculum Development Certificate
Round One: January 7 – May 12, 2025
Round Two: May 13 – September 15, 2025
The purpose of the DEISJ Curriculum Development Certificate Program is to help faculty and others involved in teaching SUNY General Education learn the knowledge and skills necessary to create course content that meets the SUNY DEISJ General Education student learning outcomes. A group of SUNY DEISJ faculty fellows and SUNY staff developed the program framework.
Learn how to:
- Design and teach courses in your discipline that meet the SUNY DEISJ general education requirements.
- Understand and articulate the key terms, research, and scholarly conversations in the content areas related to the SUNY DEISJ learning outcomes.
- Reflect critically on how your own background shapes your approach to helping students learn about DEISJ.
Three, six-week online courses (via Brightspace).

Career Readiness Champion Certificate Program
2025 Dates: January 7 – May 12 or May 13 – September 15
What you will learn:
- Gain a Practical Understanding of the Career Development Process, Resources and Tools
- Effectively Communicate with Students about Career Choices and Planning
- How to Integrate Career Readiness Into Your Role and the Advising Process
- How to Contribute to Creating a Career Culture on Your Campus
Who should take this course? All college and university faculty and staff who teach, advise, or work with students in any context in which their career plans are relevant including: Concierge and Success Coaches, Academic Advisors, Counselors/Mental Health Care Providers, EOP Personnel, Student Affairs Staff, Faculty, and Athletic Coaching Staff.
Three, six-week online courses (via Brightspace).
The program is designed to help faculty and staff on college campuses learn the competencies (knowledge and skills) needed to create a campus culture that supports students in planning for a career.

Inclusive Teaching and Learning Certificate Program
(Online via Brightspace)
The purpose of the Inclusive Teaching and Learning Certificate Program is to help faculty and others involved in teaching and learning in higher education develop new mindsets and strategies for more inclusive and equitable practices in classrooms and other learning environments. The certificate provides evidence that the participants have attained a basic set of essential skills and knowledge needed for teaching a diverse student population.
The program features:
- Nine courses total with three courses in three concentrations:
- Communication, Engagement, and Student Success
- Bringing Theory to Inclusive Practice
- Inclusive Design and Equitable Assessment
- Three learning paths:
- Complete one course in each of the three concentrations for the overall certificate
- All three courses in a single concentration for a certificate in that area
- Complete one or two courses to earn a course completion digital badge
