Open!: Innovative Instruction Technology Grants (IITG) and Open Educational Resources Impact Grants

Decorative

The SUNY (Central) Provost’s Office about a combined call for proposals for the Innovative Instruction Technology Grants (IITG) and Open Educational Resources Impact Grants which are funding opportunities designed to foster academic innovation.

The proposal process has been redesigned to encourage faculty and staff to connect beyond departmental and campus boundaries to pilot, share, and scale-up transformative teaching and learning practices connected to the Chancellor’s strategic four pillar objectives and our shared commitment for leading sustainable, impactful innovations that return value by multiple measures. These competitive seed grant programs will also focus on how these program objectives can be supported by focusing on:

  1. optimizing artificial intelligence (AI) for teaching and learning, and/or
  2. expanding support for the adoption of open educational resources (OER).

There will be a two-stage proposal solicitation. First, descriptions of high-level ideas will be solicited via a brief application similar to a Letter of Intent (LOI), followed by town hall style meetings (participation in one of several offered is a requirement). The goal is to use these meetings to foster more cross-campus communities. The second stage is for groups who may have identified common goals to submit an RFP to execute the proposal.

Applicants will need to create an account in the SUNY online grant management website. Please visit the IITG website for important dates, required activities and deadlines.

For further questions, please contact iitgrants@suny.edu.

Warmly,

The SUNY Online Team
