2023 Retroactive Individual Development Awards – covering activities completed April 1-July 1, 2023.

Deadline for Submitting Applications: November 10, 2023.

The application process for the Retroactive Individual Development Awards — a benefit negotiated as part of our statewide Agreement — is now open!! New Paltz has been allocated $23,991 through the statewide Joint Labor-Management Committee (JLMC).

This is a special retroactive IDA cycle that covers activities from April 1, 2023 to July 1, 2023. All activities and purchases must have occurred during that limited time period.

The maximum grant for the IDA program for the entire 2022-2023 cycle is $2,000. Individuals may submit up to two (2) applications for a maximum of $2,000 in total. (Note: If you received funding in the special IDA period from July 1, 2022-March 31, 2023 this counts in your $2000 limit.) Given the number of applications in recent years, most grants have been awarded less than the maximum amount.

If you are proposing two projects, please submit them separately, via two responses to the IDA submission link.

Funds are intended to assist eligible employees to develop their full professional potential and to prepare for advancement. Funding may be provided to enhance teaching, research capabilities, professional knowledge, and skills. The deadline for receipt of completed applications is November 10, 2023 –no exceptions.

The activity period for the Retroactive IDA awards runs from April 1, 2023 to July 1, 2023. All projects/proposals must have taken place within that time frame. Part-timers are encouraged to apply, as 15% of the pool of funding available is initially earmarked for them; any funds left unused by part-time employee applications are swept into the remaining pool for full-timers.

Again, this is a special retroactive round of IDA funding, for which all activities will already have been completed. We will be opening another round of IDA applications for the current year (July 2, 2023 – July 1, 2024) soon, so save applications for that period until we announce it.
