This new program (being offered at no cost to faculty on SUNY campuses) is a collaboration between the Center for Mentoring, Learning and Academic Innovation (CMLAI) SUNY Empire State College and the SUNY Center for Professional Development (CPD).
The SUNY New Faculty Mentoring program is designed to support the work of new tenure track colleagues who began or will begin their faculty appointment anytime in 2020 across the State University of New York. The program will offer new faculty an opportunity to talk about vital issues as teachers, scholars and advisors. The program has two goals:
• Build community and connection among new SUNY faculty
• Support in navigating various aspects of the faculty role – teaching, mentoring/advising, service, scholarship (and more)
The program will consist of a series of online workshops and monthly meetings facilitated by CMLAI & CPD faculty and staff. Details can be found at: https://sunycpd.eventsair.com/QuickEventWebsitePortal/nfmp20/nfmp/ExtraContent/ContentPage?page=1
There will be an informational session about the program with time for questions and answers on Thursday, September 3rd from 2-3 pm. This session is open to anyone interested in participating or to others on campuses who support new faculty and will be recorded for those who can’t make it. To register for this session and see some of the program details, go to: https://sunycpd.eventsair.com/QuickEventWebsitePortal/nfmp20/nfmp
In order to be considered for the remainder of the program (only open to new SUNY tenure-track faculty who began or will begin their faculty appointment anytime in 2020), please complete the program application (no later than September 14, 2020) at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SUNYNewFaculty
