Dr. Elizabeth Hirshorn, assistant professor of psychology, has published an article titled “Unmasking Individual Differences in Adult Reading Procedures by Disrupting Holistic Orthographic Perception” in PLOS One. The article highlights different underlying reading styles in similarly highly skilled English readers. Uncovering these distinctions in skilled readers may shed light on possible alternative routes to successful reading that could benefit struggling readers.
