New Paltz for Refugees (https://www.newpaltz4refugees.org/) is a grassroots, volunteer, non-profit group working with other agencies and NGOs to resettle those in need to our New York State, Hudson Valley community. The organization seeks a volunteer for the role of communications, public relations and volunteer outreach. New Paltz for Refugees is narrowing its attention to focus on 2 very needy families, one of which arrives here in the next few weeks, and the group will need much assistance. Having a student who can send out updates of progress and of the need for volunteers or donations would be so helpful as well as to deal with any media outreach.

Interns will be responsible for photographing Images of plants, vegetables, fruits, and herbs for online Cooking School, Culinary education books, social media posts, and websites. TIAA Divest!, a nonprofit advocacy group, is looking for a student with digital production chops who is also interested in the divestment from fossil fuels movement. This could be a good way into this realm of activism for the right student! TIAA Divest is working to get SUNY pension funds out of fossil fuels.
