Professor Emeritus James Halpern, founder of the Institute for Disaster Mental Health at SUNY New Paltz, had the honor of delivering the Commencement Address at the Liberal Arts and Science Saturday Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony and receiving an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters degree, the highest form of recognition offered by the State University of New York.
