Me and My Reading Profile K-2
This tool is used to measure K-2 students’ motivation to read. Written by the same authors as the Motivation to Read Profile – Revised (Malloy, Marinak, Gambrell, & Mazzoni, 2013), this tool is similar in purpose and content, but the design is for K-2 students. Although the measure does not include conversational interviews (as does the MRP-R) the authors encourage teachers to examine the results of the reader survey portion and then “engage students in one-to-one conversations about the responses” (2015). It is strongly suggested that if you choose to use this measure with a student, you review the original article within which it was published. This will help you to align your instructional decisions with the findings of the measure.
