The New Paltz Oracle is gearing up towards a very exciting semester and we are looking for new, dedicated members with a passion for journalism. We are currently taking applications through the link provided. 

This year we are launching a new multi-media collaboration with Hawk Studios to give students interested in broadcasting an opportunity to experience live reporting and anchoring! This alongside our weekly print and digital publication will make for an excellent semester. We meet Sundays at 7pm for our pitch meeting and Tuesdays at 6pm for production night in room 421 of the SUB.

Digital Media/Journalism Intern Needed for Nonprofit Holistic Health Community

Digital media/journalism intern needed to develop a newsletter and editorial content for the Holistic Health Community, a non-profit organization based in the Hudson Valley.

This intern would also be responsible for editing articles and writing feature stories. This opportunity is best suited for a self-motivated individual with experience creating an editorial content calendar, interviewing, writing, editing and publishing.

Hearst Seeking Freelance Reporters for Points North, an Upstate Regional News Site

Hearst Newspapers, branded as Points North, is looking for freelance news reporters to cover stories focused in the Hudson Valley, Catskills, Adirondacks and Capitol Regions. The position requires reporters to write three digital stories a day with pictures and an understanding of SEO. Depending on the complexity of the piece and amount of sources Hearst is offering  $150 to $300 per piece.They are creating a combination of centerpiece stories along with clusters of shorter stories to keep the fast growing audience engaged. Duties include reporting, producing, writing, and aggregating stories that reflect the image of the site. You must be able to find interesting, regional stories and be able to quickly report breaking news. As well, you will work closely with the editing team to coordinate daily features and future plans.
