The Daily Catch is a local news publication located in Rhinebeck and Red Hook. They are offering a one-year paid internship writing news features about Red Hook and Rhinebeck, including Bard. If you’re incredibly curious, passionate about journalism, a facile writer, and someone who loves to talk to people and write their stories, this opportunity is for you. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to move into a full-time reporting job at The Daily Catch or a post-graduate fellowship in 2024-2025, right after graduation.

Sightline Media Group is Hiring Interns for Summer 2023!
Defense News and Military Times publications are seeking interns for their 2023 internship program. They’re looking for students and recent graduates with experience in writing and reporting who will work with their news team on daily coverage of the defense industry and military/veteran affairs. The ideal candidate will have published articles to submit. This is a rare opportunity for candidates looking to practice journalism that focuses on business, national security and the concerns of military service members, veterans and their families. You will be assigned byline stories to report and write for publication on their sites and in their print editions. You’ll also support larger team-reporting projects.
Their editors value accuracy, clarity, and a good story. There are opportunities to work with their video team and on audio projects for candidates with the right skills. The internship includes a program for both students who are seeking academic credit and an Editorial Fellow program for recent graduates. The main office is near Washington D.C., and these positions are not open to remote work.

The Dow Jones News Fund invites media & journalism students to apply for paid summer internships in audience engagement, business reporting, data journalism, digital media and multiplatform editing. The application deadline is November 14th.
The News Fund will select college journalists for internships with more than 70 newsrooms across the country. Those selected will also benefit from week-long, pre-internship training, $1,500 scholarships, memberships to journalism groups and access to the DJNF alumni network for jobs and mentoring.
To be considered, students must apply by November 14th and take a timed, online qualifying test. There are five training tracks; students may apply for one or more.
The Red Hook Daily Catch, a new local publication, is interested in hiring journalism interns from our department to do in-person reporting in the Red Hook area, which is just 40 minutes from New Paltz. This is an excellent opportunity for our students–it’s not far away, and it’s paid.
