Red Hook Daily Catch Seeks Editorial Interns for Fall; Reporters Must Have a Car

The Red Hook Daily Catch, a new local publication, is interested in hiring journalism interns from our department to do in-person reporting in the Red Hook area, which is just 40 minutes from New Paltz. Here are the particulars:
Position: Intern, The Red Hook Daily Catch
When: Immediately and running through Nov. 10, possibly longer.
Hours: Flexible, but probably 10-15 hours a week.
What: Report and write election-related stories ahead of the Nov. 8 general election. The stories will be assigned; there is no need to come up with or pitch stories. Reporters do in-person reporting and therefore must have a car.
Pay: $15 an hour
Requirements: Strong, grammatical writing skills, facility crafting news and feature stories, intense curiosity, excitement! Must have a car and camera (can be a mobile phone camera), as stories will include photos and occasional videos for social media posts.
Ideally, applicants will have some clips from the student paper or similar.
