Firelight is Now Hiring Operations Department Associate Interns for Spring 2023

It is Firelight’s mission to mentor our interns and give them the skills and experience to be the next generation of film, media, and arts administration professionals. Our internship program will give dedicated and driven participants the opportunity to assist our Firelight Media and Firelight Films teams with a variety of projects depending on their area of interest. Opportunities include the production and development of documentary film projects; graphic design and social video production; fundraising and arts administration, and more.

Dow Jones News Fund Journalism Internship Applications for Summer 2023 are Now Open!

The Dow Jones News Fund invites media & journalism students to apply for paid summer internships in audience engagement, business reporting, data journalism, digital media and multiplatform editing. The application deadline is November 14th.

The News Fund will select college journalists for internships with more than 70 newsrooms across the country. Those selected will also benefit from week-long, pre-internship training, $1,500 scholarships, memberships to journalism groups and access to the DJNF alumni network for jobs and mentoring.

To be considered, students must apply by November 14th and take a timed, online qualifying test. There are five training tracks; students may apply for one or more.

Calling all Juniors & Seniors, the deadline has been extended!

Established by Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Joan Casey in 2016, the Thomas Joseph Casey Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Integrity in Journalism is a scholarship in memory of their son Thomas Joseph Casey to support journalism students studying at SUNY New Paltz. The Fund is established by the donors in order to provide scholarship support to one or more full time junior(s) or first semester seniors majoring in Journalism who bring(s) passion, energy, and integrity to their profession. Exceptional Journalism minors will also be considered. The student should display competence in Journalism through a GPA of 3.25 in the major as well as overall. It is expected that the student will be endorsed by a faculty mentor in the Journalism program.
