Writing front-of-book and department articles for the magazine and website Today Media Inc, publishers of Hudson Valley Magazine and The Valley Table, is looking for Editorial Interns for a part-time position. While internships usually take place at our Fishkill office, at this time the position is remote. The internship is an opportunity to see how a print magazine is put together. Students will learn from professionals with years of experience in the industry. This is an unpaid position and the intern must be a student receiving college credit.
Hudson Valley is a monthly lifestyle magazine that has covered the region for more than 40 years. The Valley Table is a quarterly publication specializing in local food and farms, and also the organizers of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week.
Interns will perform the following duties across both of these publications. Responsibilities include:
- Fact-checking
- Writing front-of-book and department articles for the magazine and website
- Article research, proofreading, photo outreach
- Attending events(if possible; not required) and writing stories print and online
- Assisting staff with other functions necessary to produce a monthly magazine and its website (photo shoots, administrative duties, etc.)
- Pitching and brainstorming content for future issues
