Fluence Seeking Video Production Interns in Woodstock, NY!

Job Description: Come this January, Prof. Rob Harris will be working with Fluence, an educational company, as a video producer. The video production intern will report to Rob Harris, the head of video production at Fluence.

Job Overview: Fluence is an educational company training therapists to engage in psychedelic therapy. Online learning is a key component of the company. The video production intern will assist in shooting, editing and publishing video content for online courses, as well as videos to assist in marketing and knowledge leadership in the field. Most videos are shot at Fluence’s office and production studio in Woodstock, NY. Interns are required to be onsite.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in lighting and setting up shoots.
  • Assist on set during shoots either as a camera operator or production assistance.
  • Log and organize footage in Adobe Premiere Pro after shoots.
  • Edit and publish simple videos to the online learning platform.
  • Create thumbnail images and closed captioning for video content.
  • Track progress on projects and video inventory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience using Mac computers.
  • A working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder.
  • Having your own computer running Premiere Pro is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • A Basic understanding of the manual control of video cameras, including f-stop, ISO, resolution, frame rate and white balance. Fluence uses Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6K Pro Cameras.
  • A basic understanding of how to use a video tripod.
  • A willingness to learn new production and post-production skills.
  • KNOW WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW! It is critical in this job to ask questions and get clarity if you don’t understand a task. A strong candidate is not afraid to ask questions.
  • Reliability and punctuality. It is critical that interns show up on time when their shift begins, particularly for shoots.
  • Video production requires lifting and carrying heavy and expensive equipment. Interns must be able to comfortably pick up and carry up to 50lbs.
  • In addition, interns must be able to work on their feet for several hours at a time for shoots as well as sit in front of a computer for several hours at a time while editing.
  • A car is required to get to the Fluence studio. Interns either need their own car, or reliable access to one.
