Dow Jones News Fund Internship Applications are Open!

The Dow Jones News Fund invites college students to apply for paid summer internships in audience engagement, business reporting, data journalism, digital media and multiplatform editing. The application deadline is Nov. 16.

The News Fund will select college journalists for internships with more than 70 newsrooms across the country. Those selected will also benefit from week-long, pre-internship training, $1,500 scholarships, memberships to journalism groups and access to the DJNF alumni network for jobs and mentoring.

The New Paltz Oracle is gearing up towards a very exciting semester and we are looking for new, dedicated members with a passion for journalism. We are currently taking applications through the link provided. 

This year we are launching a new multi-media collaboration with Hawk Studios to give students interested in broadcasting an opportunity to experience live reporting and anchoring! This alongside our weekly print and digital publication will make for an excellent semester. Job Description: Come this January, Prof. Rob Harris will be working with Fluence, an educational company, as a video producer. The video production intern will report to Rob Harris, the head of video production at Fluence.

Job Overview: Fluence is an educational company training therapists to engage in psychedelic therapy. Online learning is a key component of the company. The video production intern will assist in shooting, editing and publishing video content for online courses, as well as videos to assist in marketing and knowledge leadership in the field. Most videos are shot at Fluence’s office and production studio in Woodstock, NY. Interns are required to be onsite.

Hearst Newspapers, branded as Points North, is looking for freelance news reporters to cover stories focused in the Hudson Valley, Catskills, Adirondacks and Capitol Regions. The position requires reporters to write three digital stories a day with pictures and an understanding of SEO. Depending on the complexity of the piece and amount of sources Hearst is offering  $150 to $300 per piece.They are creating a combination of centerpiece stories along with clusters of shorter stories to keep the fast growing audience engaged.
