The Woodstock Film Festival wrapped up on Oct. 2 after another successful year of independent film screenings and thought-provoking panels. Once again students from the Department of Digital Media & Journalism covered important festival events by filming Q&As with filmmakers and actors and producing recap videos which have been posted to the WFF YouTube channel.

These students worked hard, long hours in Woodstock covering events and then long evenings editing their footage. They were excited, motivated and professional. It was very rewarding seeing them in the field applying their skills and tools that they have been gathering in our classrooms. And it was gratifying seeing so many of our DMJ Alumni working the festival in professional capacities.

The volunteer coordinator at WFF offered this feedback at the close of the festival: “The energy and excitement with which they swept in and out of the Film Festival offices, for me, underscored the value of undergraduate programs that train career-ready students who are capable of stepping into the fast-moving waters of digital media production”.

Attached below are a few more shots of our students in action at the festival.
