Summer 2021 Paid Internship Opportunity for enterprising PR or Journalism student (remote with some in-person events near Phoenicia, NY (the Catskills)

Strategize a robust media and press plan for Mount Tremper Arts (MTA), a performing arts center in the Catskill Mountains. Your work will help give MTA a fresh and focused voice, while creating a long-term work plan.

Essential Functions

 

• Press: Draft press releases and pitch stories nationally
• Social Media: Develop a social media content strategy including themes, timing, streamlining posting tools, and ad campaigns
• Organization: Calendarize a media and press strategy, cataloging compelling visual stories and content from both the archives and current activities
• Content: Create content at events and by working directly with artists
• Analysis: Track metrics
• Events: Staff events with front of house duties (outdoors)

 

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

• You are passionate about art and contemporary
• You actively participate on Instagram and There is no need to be a best practices “expert” – there is a lot of information online to learn this.
• You have a great eye for images, and have basic photo and video editing
• You have strong proofreading skills and ability to write clearly and
• You have are available 2 days/week (flexible); 6 Saturday evening performances are

Compensation: A stipend of $250/month up to 3 months

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Remote, except for events
