Most schools tend to emphasize the active forms (waigong), and a few focus on the meditative techniques (neigong). Qigong Smile offers a complete qigong workout that includes all aspects of qigong for full health benefits. Students can expect the following format:

Warm-up:
stretching and moderate cardio exercises

Breath Meditation:
variety of 36 deep relaxing breaths

Visualization:
variety of brief guided healing imagery

Active Qigong form: 
one of 9 easy to follow movement routines

Warm-down:
patting to stimulate key acupressure points

Self-massage:
therapeutic touch to relieve any tension

Centering & Salutations

Qigong classes use various standing positions, so students traditionally wear light in-door shoes (shoes that have not been worn outside), but some Westerners practice in bare feet. Wear loose and comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. While qigong is slow and gentle, it is also invigorating, so your body temperature will rise, and light layers are recommended.
