Teaching

Eric Myers: Teaching

I  previously taught at New Paltz, in the same department, as a visiting Assistant Professor (2012-13) and Lecturer (2013-14).   In addition to teaching the same labs (PHY211), I taught the associated lecture course, General Physics 1 (PHY201) several times, along with more advanced courses, which included Optics (PHY322), and a selected topics course for physics majors on Elementary Particle Physics(PHY493).   I also brought back a long dormant General Education course on the Physics of Sound and Music (PHY109).

Even earlier than that, I taught labs for General Physics 2  as an adjunct instructor in Wooster Hall back in 2006-2007, when the labs were not separate courses but were instead still a part of the lecture course.

My previous teaching experience elsewhere includes two years of teaching physics at the United States Military Academy at West Point (2015-2017), five years of teaching physics at the University of Michigan (1995-2001), and a total of 5 years of teaching at Vassar College (1993-1995 and 2002-2005).
