We hope everyone had an amazing summer and that you all are doing well as you gear up for the fall semester to start next Monday! In the meantime, we wanted to share a few program updates with you:
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Kate Misar to the faculty as a new Assistant Professor of Literacy Education this fall. We are so excited for her to be joining the Literacy team! She can’t wait to work with you all as you learn and grow as literacy leaders.
Dr. Sunny Duerr will be joining the Literacy team as the new Program Coordinator. Dr. Duerr has been working closely with the Literacy Education program for years, and we are so lucky to have him stepping into this role as we start a new academic year!
Professor Maura Musso will serve as the Academic Advisor for all candidates for the fall semester. Many of you know Professor Musso from the undergraduate Early Childhood / Childhood Education program, and we are thrilled to have her serving in the role of advisor! She will be in touch as registration for spring approaches.
Dr. Kathleen Lord has officially retired from SUNY New Paltz and we wish her well in her future educational endeavors and scholarly pursuits! She wishes you the best of luck in your future work and knows you will positively impact the lives of so many students in the future. Dr. Lord has enjoyed working with you so much.
Dr. Kiersten Greene will be on medical leave during the fall semester and will really miss working with you and the program! Dr. Duerr and Professor Musso will be your main points of contact for questions about the program and advising from here on out.
BEST WISHES for the start of the new school year! We cannot wait to see the amazing things you will accomplish!!!
We hope everyone’s spring semester wound down smoothly. And CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GRADUATES!!!
