Literacy Interventionist Job Openings

Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School

We seek a qualified , not necessarily certified highly committed group of teachers for fulltime positions to be part of our literacy interventionists team of five or six professionals.

They will be working with our ninth grade students who require strategies and intensive research based direct instruction.

The focus of this TEAM is to develop a student- centered system of intervention that effects work to close the rather significant achievement gap in writing and reading.

The goal of the TEAM is to make certain to improve the literacy skills of every single child in content areas.

We are creating small groups for direct intervention and instruction with students via day to day, after school and on a rotating Saturday am basis

This is far and away our highest priority, bar none.  The interventionists will, of course, work with our subject matter teachers, administrators, MSW’s, special needs teachers, head of school, and must engage parents. If you want to bring a child into a world in which they find love than apply.

This is rare and thrilling opportunity to be part of a new team in a well funded, progressive high school in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx. As a result, no voice should be silent. All ideas are good ideas, they may not be adopted but will be heard.

Starting annual salary is in  70 to 75k including all benefits.

Demand for these positions is high so if interested please email school founder, Dan Klores … danklores24 @gmail. com

Job Opening

This email was sent from a literacy candidate in our program:

I am writing to share an employment opportunity, with hopes that you can pass the information along to students in the Literacy program. I am currently the 4th grade teacher at Dutchess Day School, which is an independent school in Millbrook. I am leaving this position because I have moved to another area, and it is too long of a commute for me. They would need a replacement as soon as possible.
Dutchess Day School is a great school and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a teaching position. I truly would not be leaving this position if it weren’t for the long commute.
This school is community based. Everyone works together and collaborates as much as possible. It truly feels like a family. Lunch (which is always delicious) is provided. School starts at 7:45 and ends at 3:15. They offer benefits and retirement.
The fourth grade position consists of teaching reading, writing (including spelling and grammar), and math. You have many prep periods throughout the day and the curriculum is designed but not set in stone.
Please email hopenwac@newpaltz.edu if you would like to contact the candidate for more information!
