There are actually a few similarities between this poem by The Last Poets and the reading by Murray Foreman, one being that they both address racism in the city of Harlem. They also both discuss issues in the hood, it’s interesting how the reading speaks about how this effects artists and in this poem artists themselves are expressing issues of racism in the hood.
