Study Skills

College students often don’t know how to study and manage their time effectively. Studying and time management are two skills so intertwined it’s hard to separate them. In order to study well and complete assignments in a time-effective manner, a student should manage their time well and work on assignments in shorter amounts of time over a longer amount of time instead of all at once.

It can be useful to know studying techniques and strategies so you can teach your tutees these skills. Composition classes will focus less on test preparation, but good studying skills can be used to learn the skills needed to write an essay or remember rhetorical devices.
