Signs of Harm
Circle Practice Rules of Engagement

Eddy at New Paltz cordially invites the whole campus community to Signs of Harm, an evening of listening and sharing in response to disturbing symbols found on campus.  Please join and also encourage your students to participate.

SIGNS OF HARM

hosted by Eddy at New Paltz in collaboration with the Dorsky Museum

Thursday April 13th, 5:30 – 7:30pm
OLB quad in front of Old Library

Pizza will be served. Bring your own drink.
Bring a mat or blanket to sit on.

As a collaborative strategy to move toward a culture of care, we will engage in a creative circle practice format to become more actively aware of the emotional resonance that visual and physical signs can carry.

Our CIRCLE PRACTICE RULES of ENGAGEMENT

  • Mic goes around in our center circle
  • Speak until done, nobody interrupts you
  • Step up behind someone who already spoke to take their seat and speak when it is your turn in the circle
  • What is said here stays here, what is learned here leaves here (confidentiality)
  • Listen actively and with respect

We hope you will join us!
