SUNY Music Department Seeks Production Interns to Capture Concerts and Recitals

Enjoy capturing music on video? Consider interning for the SUNY New Paltz Music Department, which has won a National Endowment for the Arts project grant to explore Persian piano traditions in traditional and contemporary practices. The project is year-round.

To document this important work, the Music Department seeks Digital Media Production interns capable in videography and camera operations. Must be well trained in video and sound recording and video editing. This is a great internship if you want to stay local!

Consider Taking the Ottaway Seminar in Fall, Taught by Award-Winning Journalist Sarah Carr

The Ottaway Seminar this fall is tentatively titled “The Kids’ Story: Telling Stories of American Inequity Through the Lens of Youth.” The professor is Sarah Carr, a contributing editor at the Hechinger Report, former investigative editor at the Boston Globe (focusing on education and equity), and author of Hope Against Hope, for which she embedded in schools in New Orleans to tell the story of students’ and teachers’ experiences after Hurricane Katrina. Athletics, Wellness & Rec Program Needs Production, Journalism & Social Media Interns –Apply Today!

The Department of Athletics, Wellness, and Recreation is seeking interns for the Spring ’22 semester to work in the areas of photography, videography, graphic design, journalism, and assistance with social media. The successful candidates will be connected to the professional staff virtually and in person if possible, to cover Wellness and Recreation events, staff spotlights, and capture facility happenings. The intern can expect to work in a professional setting with flexible hours and plenty of room for creativity and stylistic development. An additional emphasis will be placed on assisting with the coordination and design of the campus wide Stress Busters Program. Residence on campus is not required for consideration.
