Production Intern Needed this Fall for Documentary on Boxing in the Catskills

Baker Street Productions, an independent production company based in Sullivan County, is seeking a digital media production intern to assist the producer/director in several projects, including creating a documentary about the history of Boxing in the Catskills, called “Ringside in the Mountains.”

Much of the internship will be remote, so student must be self-motivated and disciplined. Excellent communication skills a MUST.

  • Intern will be able to learn about creating documentary content through development, pre-­ production, production, and post-production.
  • Assisting with the organizational tasks of historical research

QUALIFICATIONS: (Provide handson support to the producer/director)

  • Assist in project wrapping, including billing coordination and expense filing.
  • Participate in note-taking, and conducting research, to gain insights and contribute to project
  • Provide general administrative support as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the production team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic knowledge of online research
  • Basic knowledge of editing (Premiere preferred)
  • Familiarity with Google Suite: Docs, Sheets, Slides
  • Strong interest in pure production
  • Participate in note-taking, and conducting research, to gain insights and contribute to project
  • Provide general administrative support as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the production team.

Post-Production Film Intern Needed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn NOW!

Are you a HUNGRY post-production intern and able to intern in Williamsburg, Brooklyn? If so, read on:

Catherine Rehwinkel is producing for director/producer/EP Andrew Neel  (GoatKing KellyDarkonAlice Neel).  She is seeking a hungry post production intern to start in February: We need help with several projects we are developing at SeeThink Films. Centrally, there is a doc in production (about artists working in the advertising industry).  There is a 2024/2025 slate of feature films at various stages, both fictional and documentary which will be entering post-production, and a couple of feature documentaries with existing footage in the can which are now ready to begin assembly ASAP.

We are offering: 

•a monthly stipend for the duration of part-time internship—up to 12 mo—the basis of which is up for discussion; 

•a chair/machine at the SeeThink Films office in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY

•potential opportunity to work as an assistant editor on sizzles/trailers

•the chance to gain experience working with an award-winning editor (of feature films & Super Bowl commercials) 

•mentorship within a tight knit community of filmmakers 

Working together with myself and our editor, post intern duties would include things like: 

•transcripts / supporting paper edits from director, producer, editor

•offline media encoding

•project setup (likely in Adobe Premiere)

•creating & exporting selects stringouts

The BEA Awards Digital Media Production Students the Award of Excellence for Short Film

Congratulations to Digital Media Production majors Allison McIntyre, Alex Bologna, Angelica James, and Danielle Hoffman-Caguit. Their short documentary film, Farm to Community: The Abundance Farms Story, is being honored with a Broadcast Education Association Award of Excellence in the student documentary category.  The BEA is “the premier international academic media organization, driving insights, excellence in media production, and career advancement for educators, students, and professionals.”
