Attention Recent New Paltz Graduates – Job Opportunity with Hudson Valley Magazine; Full-Time Digital Editor

Hudson Valley Magazine is looking for a full-time Digital Editor. Position will take place in-person in Fishkill, NY. Candidates must be familiar with the Hudson Valley area and love to explore everything from food to entertainment.

Candidates should be well-rounded not only in their skillset but their own personal tastes and are comfortable with the ins and outs of content management and web writing. Individuals must have the ability to take direction as well as offer constructive input while working with others. A passion for digital storytelling is a must. 

Skills 

  • 1-2 years of experience in Digital Journalism and Editing
  • Familiarity with HTML and content management systems 
  • Familiarity with Photoshop and other content management systems 
  • Social Media proficiency over multiple platforms 
  • Multitasking abilities
  • Clear, effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of what makes something newsworthy or relevant to Hudson Valley Magazine’s audience 
  • Ability to take direction and run with it
