The Hudson Valley International Festival of the Voice is seeking a backstage/crew/production intern! Located in New Paltz, the internship is very short and intensive, taking place from June 20 – July 2, 2024.

They are seeking a Backstage Crew Intern to join their team and contribute to the execution of exciting and memorable productions.
Job Description:
As a Backstage Crew Intern at The Hudson Valley International Festival of the Voice, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of live entertainment and event production. You will work closely with our experienced backstage crew to support the seamless excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in stage management, technical production, or live event coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Stage Setup and Strike: Work alongside the backstage crew to set up and dismantle stage equipment, props, and scenery before and after performances.
- Prop Management: Help with the organization, maintenance, and transportation of props and scenic elements as required for different shows.
- Costume Support: Assist with costume changes and laundry to ensure performers are always prepared and dressed appropriately.
- Communication and Coordination: Maintain effective communication with the stage manager, performers, and other production team members to ensure a smooth flow of the performance.
- Emergency Response: Be aware of emergency procedures and assist in ensuring the safety of performers and crew in case of an emergency.
- Technical Assistance: Gain exposure to various technical aspects of productions, such as lighting and sound, and assist with equipment setup and maintenance.
- General Support: Provide general assistance to the backstage crew as needed, including running errands, helping with transportation, and ensuring a tidy and organized backstage area.
Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm for live entertainment and a strong interest in backstage operations.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow directions and stay organized.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry equipment when necessary.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required for event schedules.
