Journalism and PR Interns Needed for Fall Social Media Position at Ulster BOCES

INTERN OPPORTUNITY WITH ULSTER BOCES COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Internship in school communications office available for a responsible student interested in public relations, journalism, communications, and digital media. The ideal candidate will:

  • be detail-oriented;
  • be able to work independently to complete assignments by deadline;
  • be adaptable in a variety of situations;
  • have excellent interpersonal, writing, and computer skills;
  • be knowledgeable of social media;
  • be able to create simple videos for social media using a cell phone or GoPro device;
  • be eager to learn.

The successful candidate will write various communication forms (letters, press releases, brochure copy, website copy, social media posts, etc.), attend school events to take photographs and/or write stories, proofread and edit other team member’s work, contribute content to existing Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts, with the possibility of also launching a company LinkedIn account. Maintaining content on websites is also possible.

Ulster BOCES will provide equipment. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation (mileage will be reimbursed). New York State fingerprinting and clearance is also a requirement.
