Film Photo Award
Deadline: October 15

This award offers three distinct film grants to photographers who demonstrate a serious commitment to the field and are motivated to continue the development of still film-based photography in the 21st century. All emerging, established, and student photographers worldwide, 18 years old or older are invited to submit to one of three available award categories: New Project Award, Continuing Project Award, and Student Project Award.

AWARD INCLUDES:

Continuing Project Award 
Recipients choice of:
300 sheets of 4×5, 200 rolls of 120, or 200 rolls of 35mm Kodak Professional film

New Project Award 
Recipients choice of:
300 sheets of 4×5, 200 rolls of 120, or 200 rolls of 35mm Kodak Professional film

Student Project Award
Recipients choice of:
150 sheets of 4×5, 100 rolls of 120, or 100 rolls of 35mm Kodak Professional film
In addition, the recipient of the Student Project Award will receive a 4×5 view camera from Standard Cameras.

Recipients choose the Kodak Professional Film emulsion that is best suited for their project from the following list: Portra 160, Portra 400, Ektar 100, Tri-X 400 / 320, T-MAX 100, T-MAX 400.

Fees: Non-students: $35, Students: $25

 

SPE Awards

2020 SPE Student Awards for Innovations in Imaging & LGBTQ Student Award

Awards are given annually to SPE student members to offset the cost of attending SPE’s annual conference based on merits of submitted portfolios.

All SPE student members are eligible to apply for a scholarship to offset the cost of attending SPE’s 2020 annual conference. Awards are offered based on merits of submitted portfolios and include a travel stipend to attend the annual conference, a 2020 annual conference fee waiver, and a one-year membership to SPE. Jurors will seek to award work that demonstrates the most innovative and unique uses of photographic techniques. All lens-based technology is eligible (including video), as well as photo-based camera less technologies.

NEW THIS YEAR: The LGBTQ Caucus is pleased to announce a new student scholarship available to LGBTQ student members. To be considered for this scholarship, please indicate your interest and eligibility in the Slideroom application. Support for the LGBTQ student scholarship was generously provided by Gay Block and an anonymous donor.

 

Lauren Shrensel Zadikow Memorial Award

Award is given annually to an SPE member, at any stage in their career, to offset the cost of attending SPE’s annual conference. Special consideration will be given to photographers working to counter social and/or environmental injustices.

SPE is honored to announce the Lauren Shrensel Zadikow Memorial Award. The cash award of $500 supports an SPE member, at any stage of their career, to attend SPE’s Annual Conference. Special consideration will be given to photographers working to counter social and/or environmental injustices.
