The SUNY New Paltz photography program is housed in the Old Library Building at the North end of campus along with the graphic design program.
The following workspaces are available for students to use:
- 107 – Photo Classroom – our large lecture and critique space, which can be used by students outside of class time to pin-up work.
- 107C – DPL lab – the primary classroom space for digital-based courses
- 18 iMac computers
- 3x Epson V800 flatbed scanners with film holders for 35mm, 120, and 4×5
- 4x Epson Stylus Pro 3880 inkjet printers (up to 17″ wide sheet paper)
- 2x Epson Stylus Pro 4880 inkjet printers (up to 17″ wide sheet or roll paper)
- 2x Imacon/Flextight virtual drum scanners with holders for 35mm, 645, 6×6, 6×7, and 4×5
- Lightbox for viewing negatives
- Color laser printer for test prints, contact sheets, and documents
- GTI color-calibrated print viewing station
- 103B – Lighting Studio – used primarily for The Constructed Image, but can be reserved outside of class
- 1 iMac with tethering cables and software for Nikon and Canon cameras
- 2x Bowens monolights
- 1x other monolight
- Assorted props
- 15′ seamless background paper in White, Black, and Chromakey Green
- 48″ seamless background paper in White, Black, and Chromakey Green
- B&W Darkroom and Film Developing Lab with Accessories – used for Basic Photography and The Large Format Image
- Mounting and Mat Cutting Room – used to finish your prints
- Photo Equipment Room (Aka “The Cage”)
