students, staff and faculty invite you to co-create a daylong Regeneration Symposium on Friday, April 10, 2026.

We are coordinating with the Mid-Hudson Master Teacher Program & the City of Newburgh Environmental Justice Coalition. This event is sponsored in part by a SUNY Innovative Instructional Technology Grant (IITG). There will be a January call for student projects, panels, and posters.

Topics to include: 

  • Earth Connection & Environmental Art 
  • Storytelling for Environmental Stewardship & Decarbonization 
  • Athletic Arenas for Regeneration 
  • Circular Economy & Systems Thinking 
  • Information Access as a Human Right 
  • Environmental Studies & Ecocriticism 
  • Restorative Justice 

We are also coordinating with the Hudson Valley Writing Project (HVWP) and the Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF) on Saturday, April 11 to join in their daylong conference, Teaching Climate Literacy: Hope in Action designed for Pre K-16 school and community educators.

Topics to include: 

  • Advocacy, civic, and community action 
  • The arts as a medium for learning and change 
  • Exploration of Climate data 
  • Narrative Writing and Storytelling as productive interruption 
  • Poetry 
  • Professional Learning & Support in an era of climate change 
  • Social & Emotional Learning 
  • Sources that inspire hope and action in an age of climate change 
  • Sustainability
