Special Topics Course: Revolutionary Representation

Introducing a new course, taught by Journalist and Producer Noor Tagouri, the Spring 2025 Special Topics Course: DMJ393-01 Revolutionary Representation!

Exploring the Intersection of Journalism and Personal Narrative Revolutionary Representation is a course designed to question the core tenets of traditional journalism, including Truth, objectivity, neutrality, and the role of advocacy. Students will investigate and document their personal biases and beliefs, develop storytelling skills, and create a body of work derived from their own story. The intention of this course is to cultivate a deeper understanding of our role in the stories we tell, and its impact on the collective narrative.

Revolutionary Representation will be taught by award-winning journalist, producer, and speaker Noor Tagouri. Her audio documentary, REP: A Story About the Stories We Tell, explores concepts of objectivity and representation in the media.

This is a half-term,  2-credit class. It runs Wednesdays from 12:30-3:20 until March 10.
