The Wall Street Journal graphics internship is an opportunity for college juniors, seniors, and graduate students enrolled in a degree program to get hands-on experience in an award winning newsroom for Summer 2025.
The primary duties will include the production of compelling, and editorially strong, visual journalism. Graphics interns will be asked to build solo and team projects utilizing data-driven interactives, maps, charts, social media promos, and more.
Those looking to apply should be motivated self-starters who understand the Wall Street Journal’s audience across platforms and are able to work independently on deadline. Required skills include high journalistic standards, excellent writing, and reporting skills. An interest in business reporting is preferred, but experience is not required.
Those applying should also have experience with either one prior reporting internship with a professional media organization, published work with a campus news outlet, or freelancing.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator is required for static data visualization. For interactive graphics, experience with HTML and CSS is required. Experience with JavaScript and D3.js are not required by highly preferred.
Time range is 10 weeks in between June and August and the pay is estimated at $28.57. Only finalists will be contacted.
