Ulster County Recycling Program Seeks Video Production Student for In-Person Paid Video and Podcast Internship in Kingston, NY

Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency is looking for interns to create several videos, varying in length, for use in their public relations, social media, and recycling education program.

growing ulster green logoAn ideal candidate would be a student who has exceptional working knowledge of video and audio production, editing software, and basic skills in graphic design and social media marketing and can work independently on the technical aspects of these projects. A personal or professional interest in environmental science/sustainability would be preferable as well. Must have transportation and access to video equipment and editing software.

Another goal of the internship would be to help launch a podcast series. UCRRA’s Recycling Education program has goals to expand their media suite to podcasts and need support on how to get started. They specifically need help with advising for equipment, software, troubleshooting the first few episodes, editing them, plus, training the team on how to continue the podcast program, as both a written report and presentation to the team. UCRRA would cover the costs to purchase and retain any necessary materials for the podcast.

Some other projects would be rebranding their logo (if you have graphic design skills). They would also like their social media (Facebook, Instagram, Mailchimp, and YouTube) reviewed so they can better their social media presence and strategy.

UCRRA is looking for students who are available 1-2 days per week for about 7-14 hours per week for 15 weeks. They are flexible with students’ schedules as long as the students can come into their facility in Kingston Monday-Friday, 7:30-3:30, plus 1-2 Saturdays as needed. This is a paid position.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a senior student to apply their skills, work independently, and gain valuable experience!

****Please note that our organization does not own any video production equipment. In an ideal scenario, the student would have access to the department’s equipment and software throughout the internship, as well as access to a faculty member for technical questions about the video projects, as we do not have any specialty in these areas. The student would work independently on all technical aspects of the video production/editing, but we would provide a high level of instruction on the creative content.****

Candidates should send resume and cover letter to Angelina Peone at apeo@ucrra.org
