What moments stand out? the moments that stood out most to me was when the kids and parents left, they seemd very appreciative of us doing this for them and their kids. the kids also left pretty excited and like they had a lot of fun, it was very rewarding to see the work pay off.

When did a child surprise you, by doing something unexpected? actually the kids used the toothpicks in ways I didnt expect at all but was clever, they used them to join legs/heads/body parts together and it worked really well! another thing that he kids did that surprised me was come in with their stories already thought and planned out! they were so excited to see their story be made!

What did you observe about the interactions between the children and their adults? they actually worked together as a team more so than I thought, I expected the parents to just watch but they really tried to help their kids and support them as a sort of team player, like helping them make a leg or head, there were also opposite instances though, where parents totally took over which was unfortunate to see, I didnt see it personally but was told it happened during the filming process

What worked particularly well? i think the stations worked really well and kept things flowing as smooth as it could have, having someone to help at each station was good and we also learned very quickly since we were popular, that having two filming stations also worked well, and it worked out since there were four of us. im also really glad we allowed kids to make their own backgrounds because they really enjoyed that and many of them partook in it. also since i was mostly on character development, cleaning the clay as students left, taking it a part and sorting it out again was imperative because we ran out pretty fast otherwise which at first was a little stressful but when we got past that full house it was much more calm. I was mainly stationed at the character development stage and in the beginning I wouldn’t get to be too one on one with the kids, and was just a helper to them, I think I did a good job, and gave the kids the resources they needed, and asked them questions to pique their creativity.

overall i think the fact we all got together often enough to organize, and plan, made this activity work, because this kind of activity requires a lot of organization, i think we all played our roles well and helped kids be creative and have a good time, we all worked on different posters and worked together really well, and that’s why this was so successful, really good teamwork!

everyone contributed their ideas like a take home slip for the video links, the stage ideas, the set up, how its organized, we all really worked as a team so its hard to talk about things individually. Everyone played an equal role in their involvement.

just to add- the activity was very adaptable and engaging to all ages, sure the younger kids would need more help from their parents/one of us, but they enjoyed it just as much and came up with their own ideas, and kids could get really into it or they could keep it really simple. This project is a great example of an adaptable project for that reason.

What might you do differently next time?

the only thing I would maybe do differently is, not have videos play in the background? im not 100% sure I would ditch the idea but I noticed kids got distracted during the character development by the videos, but also it was good inspiration and entertainment for when a kid had to wait for a certain background.
