Matt Boughton, Visual Arts Education Major

This is Matt, he is an Art Education major at New Paltz and is a transfer student after earning his associates at Suny Ulster. He’s really passionate about art, and wants to be the teacher that kids can go to and feel comfortable around. He started drawing in fifth grade after noticing someone else’s talent’s and having the desire to improve. He hasn’t looked back ever since and has really fallen in love with it. Although his housing and financial circumstances has been a burden on him, he’s not letting it stop him from creating a better future for himself and his family.
He’s been working extremely hard since he was 15 and hasn’t stopped, while still trying to maintain that work-life balance. Despite moving around a lot all his life.
