Mark McFadden, Director

Hello, My name is Mark McFadden and I am the director of the Career Resource Center (CRC) here at SUNY New Paltz. As you may know, or will learn when you visit the CRC, the staff here is amazing as are the services we provide and events/programs we offer.

In my current role, I over see the day-to-day operations of our office. This includes overseeing the budget, making sure our resources are up-to-date, developing new programs through cross-campus collaborations, expanding networking opportunities for students and alumni, and fundraising. The only downside of my duties is that it limits the amount of time I can work with students. That being said, I still see a lot of students which helps keep my career counseling/advising skills sharp. A few new initiatives that are in the works include new partnerships with the Office of Veteran Services and the Disability Resource Center (DRC). The CRC and DRC are working together to develop career focused services for students and alumni on the Autistic spectrum and we are collaborating with the Workforce Recruitment Program to connect students with a diagnosed disability with federal employers.

Prior to moving to New Paltz in January 2016, I worked at Alfred University for over fifteen years where I served as the director of the Career Development Center for twelve years. Outside of work, I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and skiing in the Catskills and Adirondacks.
