What are you exploring? Describe your process and progress so far.
We are building on the glitch art project we did at the beginning of the semester. We want to expand it more with a tutorial we found, using photoshop we can control the “glitch” a lot more than just manipulating the actual code. We want to either explore big ideas, such as identity, aesthetics, and observation/perception. Possible project ideas would be using glitch art to alter a self-portrait or to alter an already existing and famous piece of art. This project could work for high school students if we are working with photoshop but if we were just working with the picture he pictures code, which would also work for middle schoolers.

I like how your choosing to build upon Glitch Art. I feel like our class experience with this activity went by so quick and I think there was so much more that could be done with it. It will be interesting to see Glitch through Photoshop. But with more control you will be able to reach the exact image you are trying to achieve. Glitch Art definitely has the ability to alter identity, aesthetics, and how something/someone is perceived. I see that the example work you attached above has the coding in the background behind the man. What I am wondering is if you added in some form of text not necessarily coding but some type of writing? It could be a mash of different words, like if your doing a self portrait maybe words to describe yourself? I think it might be something cool to add in for extra effect.
Thanks for the feedback! I agree with you, the glitch art projects went by so fast and it was really cool to me, so I’m excited to do more with it. I like your idea with the text and I will definitely try to see if I can incorporate that!
