If you were to travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and who would you bring?
I think right now I would want to road trip across the US because there are lots of trees I want to see here in America; plus, I could bring my pup, and pick up my squad along the way. I really wanna make it to California, Washington, and Alaska–mainly for the forests. On my way up to Alaska, I hope to venture to British Columbia to fulfill my lifelong goal of seeing a spirit bear.
How has nature impacted your goals?
I didn’t always love trees–well, I guess I did, but I didn’t know it. I grew up in the middle of nowhere, so I could always go outside. And then I met people who couldn’t–so I finally met people from the city. Haha. Then I started working at a farm camp with kids from the Hudson Valley, which brought me here and made me realize that not everyone gets the chances that I had. I want students to appreciate what’s out there, before it’s all gone.
As an online grocery shopper, what trends do you?
People are evil. Well, not everyone’s evil, I guess. I think everyone should work customer service or retail at some point in their lives–the world would be a better place. It should be mandatory. Anyway, thinking about trends, people are very wasteful.
How so?
In terms of the environment, they are very wasteful. Consumers make selfish decisions with plastics. The amount of plastic bags I have to use is insane.
In terms of nature and conservation, what do you wish consumers would do when filling out their online grocery carts?
Stop buying 24-pks of water. Buy more essentials in bulk. Finally, opt for glass containers–so many things are unncessarily plastic.
Where do you see yourself in 25 years?
I’ll be living on a small farm with lots of vegetables, some cows, and lots of pups. I don’t know where I’ll be or where I’ll land, since I love to travel. Ugh. I don’t know. I never thought about fifty!
