Ghazal of December 18, 2017
As we grow, we reflect and express through story.
We traverse the path of life sharing influences, expanding our comfort zone through story.
Everyday the modest magicians brew elixirs to curse opaque symptoms.
Open eyes with broken cups meet them, yearning to drink stories.
Words have a funny way of working truth in the end.
Things that don’t last forever make the most lasting story.
Writing about oneself is difficult–
Exposing yourself to your own story.
In order to write, it’s not just done once,
It’s part of our lives, an ever-changing story.
As we move through the world and all of its glory,
We should all take the time to reflect on our story.
This is too hard–
I don’t have a story.
It had never crossed my mind–
Can we reverse through a story?
Much like the world, humans change over time.
Though the many ends, we write our process into a story.
We are all writers–
Composing our own stories.
This process is often more important than the product.
We are defined by our story.
Exploration is vital for growth–
To know yourself is to own your story.
The world is so much richer
When everyone shares their story.
