This first image captures that first day “What is this class going to be like?” feeling.  Mark is dutifully reviewing the syllabus.  As a teacher, I’m struck by the atomized individuals on a day focused on building community,  I belatedly realize that I should have arranged the room to support this instructional goal.

These following images captures one Gallery Walk item, “”One View of the Writing Process”  that sparked reactions. Here is cite Kristina and Jacob, who both contributed a sticky note to the “Writing Process” discussion.  Their comments highlight critical areas of attention for those of us seeking to be more effective writing teachers:  The (1) “under-rated” value of prewriting (Kristina) and (2) “publishing students’ work adds relevance” (Jacob)
