Within each residence hall is a valuable and unique resource, the hall government!
Traditionally, each hall government’s executive board is comprised of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Historian, and two RHSA representatives, but the type/number of positions may vary depending on each hall. Hall governments are responsible for putting on programs within their halls, relaying hall concerns to RHSA, as well as relaying information about campus and RHSA activities to their hall. Hall government members are elected and serve according to constitutions written by each hall. By providing programs, information, and support to the hall, hall governments help create the sense of community that SUNY New Paltz is known for!
If you are interested in becoming a part of your hall government, you can attend general interest meetings that are held in your hall at the beginning of each semester. You may also reach out to your hall’s RA Liaisons or hall government at any point during the year to learn more about joining!
