Because this is a show with a targeted audience of 4-7 year old children, I wanted to make my poster designs fun, simple, and easily readable. This show takes place in a city above and underground, so I wanted to tie those two spaces together to unify them. This is where my first idea came from, but it wasn’t as strong as my later designs. I then took an image of a sewer cover and make it a vector with the color purple, which was a part of the color scheme from my first design. We were told this was a fairly gender neutral show, so I used colors like purple, yellow, and  turquoise to carry that theme. I made the Sewertopia logo using the purple sewer cover and text, and I’m personally very pleased with it. I finally came up with designs I liked a lot when I figured where the best place to put the text was – and it was at the bottom. This way, it didn’t interfere with the illustration or get lost in translation. It also helped with the placement of the FUEL logo and New Paltz logo.
