On Friday, September 30, 2016, Historic Huguenot Street will serve as a host site for Fireball Run, “an adventure-travel television series and live action competition. It is the real story of 40 teams of adventurers, taking the road less traveled in an epic quest for America’s most obscure and historic artifacts.” Rather than a cash prize, participants raise funds and awareness for charities.

As one of the competition’s destinations, HHS will host approximately 150 “fireballers,” cast members, and production crew members over the course of the two hours of filming (10:40 AM – 12:40 PM). Participants will compete in three missions while on site, which will grant them access to some of the historic structures on the street and provide them with some hands-on educational challenges as well, such as working a loom. They will also eat lunch under a tent at the site.

We’re hoping to recruit volunteers to help manage the excitement. We’ll need help with things like helping to check people in, set up/clean up of catered lunch area, directing parking, directing fireballers to the different activities, etc. We also want to ensure a warm welcome for the “fireballers” as they arrive on the site, so the producers and HHS would like to assemble crowds to greet and wave good-bye as they arrive and depart from the street.”
